April 9th – Decker Lake
Got out to Decker Lake today around 2:00. Fished around for about 3 hours and ended up with 3 fish… Successful pre-fish though, think I found a couple spots that should produce.
It was fairly warm out today and the water temp got up to around 68-69. Wind made it difficult to maneuver around for part of the day, but once it calmed down I caught a few good ones.
Hoping to get out again this weekend so that I can get ready for the K.A.T.S. tournament coming up at the end of the month.

Nice. What’s the K.A.T.S. tournament? Didn’t know you were a tournament fisher, either. Been doing that for long?
K.A.T.S stands for Kayak Anglers of Texas Series. It’s just a small group that puts on Kayak fishing tourneys around Texas. I haven’t actually been into it for very long. Bought my kayak a couple months ago and just get out when I can. It is an absolute blast though. If you ever feel like renting a Yak and coming with me let me know… I love having company!

They are Large Mouth Bass… Not sure how big they were, I didn’t have my ruler with me (14-18 inch range). I was just out there for a little while. I don’t keep LMB because they aren’t too tasty in my opinion. If I go out and catch white bass then I will keep some for dinner!
Are these fish wild or feed by people? Looks delicious.
They are wild. I go to local freshwater lakes and rivers to fish. I don’t eat the Largemouth Bass, but some people do!
